There will be a special election later this summer. With the likely appointment of Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher to a post in the Obama Administration, we have the chance to send Mark DeSaulnier to represent us in Congress.
Mark has been a long time advocate for local change, and he shares our common vision for how we want our government to serve us. Mark has worked for the people of Contra Costa County and the greater Bay Area for more than 20 years. He has championed our local issues as a planning commissioner, then a mayor and a county supervisor, and, more recently as your representative to the State Legislature.
Whether it's creating jobs, improvements to BART, highway expansions, parks and open space or health care for working families, Mark is always on the side of the people in his district. And Mark has long been a leader in the fight for both affordable health care and economic support for small business owners and working families.
That's why Mark is endorsed by George Miller, Ellen Tauscher and Tom Torlakson, as well as dozens of locally elected officials and local community leaders.
